About Us - Company History
Navigation Advertising began over a decade ago as an outlet for creative visual communication by Christian Hidalgo for his commercial design clients. As a one-man show, Christian serviced the music and publishing industry primarily in Nashville. Christian developed long-term relationships with such companies as Ingram Book, Thomas Nelson Publishers, Word Music and Publishing, and many others that rely on effective creative design and advertising strategy.
In 1997 Christian hired his first employee to help with the overflow of design work. Having more capacity allowed the company to not just grow but to pursue clients outside of the Nashville area. Quickly Navigation began providing design for companies in the Southeast, Midwest and Westcoast as well as adding a full host of website development skills in addition to their well-respected print design capabilities.
Due to increasing demand from a growing client list Christian decided to make an aggressive move to grow the company by moving to the historic Murfreesboro square—giving Navigation dramatically improved visibility. Navigation credits a few items to it’s growth such as maximizing it Chamber of Commerce membership, hiring Christian’s mom as the office manager, becoming more involved in community related projects and a tireless desire to provide all of it’s clients with the very best design and customer service possible.
Currently Navigation has seven full-time employees as well as fully participating in Middle Tennessee State University’s student internship program which swells its’ ranks to ten employees on occasion. A current client list includes the Smyrna Airport, HMIS Software, Cavalry Banking, Demos’ Restaurants, FirstBank, Toot’s Restaurants, The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, Reeves-Sain Drug Stores, and the Ink and Blood national museum exhibit. Navigation realizes it must continuously improve its’ design capabilities and customer service in order to gain clients, projects and a great reputation.
Navigation is focused on becoming the premiere creative resource for clients needing design, advertising and marketing services throughout the Southeast. It’s a wonderful thing to make a living for being creative!
