Hard Lessons

Recently our team learned—the hard way—that technology is not fail safe.

As the father of a 21 month old boy I’ve learned all too well how they learn something new every day—whether you want them to or not! Similarly, we find ourselves learning something new every day in the fields of advertising, marketing, communications, web design, video production and technology. Sometimes intentionally, and sometimes unintentionally. Recently our team learned—the hard way—that technology is not fail safe. Our trusty web host company had a massive hardware failure that affected not just our website and email but over 80 client websites. We were completely helpless and there were no workarounds as there often are with a tech glitch. So, we had to employ some of our own strategy that we teach our clients by simply apologizing and promising to stay on top of the situation. Which we did and the server eventually was replaced and everyone was back online. I can say first hand that our clients are class acts and showed great patience toward us. For that we are grateful. We’re sure there are many lessons to be learned in the future but we hope it’s not in the near future. This lesson was stressful enough. smile
