All,I've never written an email like this but I wanted you to hear it from me first. Most of you are clients, some are vendors and some are friends and family.

Some of you may be aware of my recent and hopefully very brief celebrity. On Tuesday, August 4, the Rutherford County Democratic party published a nasty story about my personal back taxes. This is both embarrassing and discouraging to me and my family. The reason they attacked me is because I'm involved in the local Tea Party movement. The story made it to Keith Olberman's Worst Person in the World segment on MSNBC that same night - I was #2. Needless to say I've been surprised but at the same time not surprised. These kind of people seek and destroy others rather than debate the issues. My tax issue is years old and one I've been faithfully paying off through an installment agreement with the IRS. If you've ever dealt with the IRS before you know what I'm talking about - it's been stressful and expensive. In one part of their hit-piece they mentioned that I had put my clients at risk due to my actions. I have not and never would. Also we believe they started a website called dumpnavigationadvertising.com in an attempt to destroy my livelihood.

While I've been very vocal in the Tea Party movement I've never attacked any politician personally and would never associate with those that do. The issues are enough. If I were to follow their logic I would be disqualified from participating in the civic debate over government policies because I have back taxes. If this were true millions of Americans would be disqualified as well - even several in the current administration.

What the attackers failed to mention is that I've employed dozens of people over the years while running a reasonably successful business and never disputed what the IRS said I owed because I believed it was my responsibility to pay my debt. I've never evaded paying my taxes and always filed. I've never claimed bankruptcy, defaulted on a loan or failed to make payroll. Every check has cleared and I'm determined to preserve my name and reputation.

I'm also determined to keep up the good fight of telling our runaway government (Republican and Democrat) they've gone too far and if that brings on more negative consequences I can live with that.
